Late October Already...
Wow, can you believe it, here it is late October. I have not put a post on this blog since something like March somewhere. Now that's not to say there have not been some excellent canoe trips since then, I just have to get into the habit of writing about them and posting photos.
So this past Saturday night I get home at around 1:00 or so, after a night of haunted hayrides and haunted bog walks and I find an email that says moms country kitchen, 7:00 am Sunday. Shit! I'm way behind on everything in life, I'm worn out after getting up at 5:00 to go to the OSU Minnesota game and I'm just not ready to wake up in 4 1/2 hours and get on the water
I open my eyes at 5:00 without any alarm clock. OK, I'm going back to sleep and get up and walk the dog at around 8:00. Not! I can't go back to sleep. I'll feel guilty if I don't get on the water, especially since it's such a beautiful morning, crisp, clear and foggy.
So there you go, the rest is in a few photo's...
.
Rhett, Bruce, Billy, Bob and my self. It was a good trip, kind of chilly when we got in, but as the sun came up the warmth grew. The tough thing about these Sunday trip is what do you write about? You're out there on the water, and all of a sudden, all those things I had to do just don;t seem to matter any more. Its all about paddling around the next bend, through whatever rapids are there, staying warm and dry. You are just in a different world. It lasts for what, maybe 3-4 hours and then you reach your destination and slowly you get back into the real world. But what a journey while it lasted.
